The $10 Eagle from 1909 minted at the San Francisco mint is pretty scarce in the MS64 grade and very rare in gem (less than 100 known at MS64 and above at PCGS). What this creates is opportunity for MS64 coins (especially from PCGS) because of the "spread" in value between MS64 and MS65. MS65 examples have values north of $17K!!
This example has fantastic color and luster. Not a lot is known about the "Harbor View" collection - PCGS offers to add a 'pedigree' to a slab based upon certain qualifications related to their registry set program. For example, "Harbor View" would need to be a 100% collection on the PCGS registry and within the top 5 of complete sets. That tells us this coin was special enough to be included in a premium collection - and I can see why upon close inspection! The coin lacks distracting marks and as mentioned previous - has incredible color as well as a nice strike.
