'End of Roll' toning comes from a reaction between the silver in the Morgan dollar and the sulfer content inside the paper used to create rolls of silver dollars. In the case of this extraordinary example, the coin was at the 'end of roll' on one side (likely the reverse), produced amazing colors, and then it was turned around and the same type of toning (end of roll) was produced on the other side as well! This is one of my favorite pieces and will surely be yours as well.
