This is the rather common variety minted in Hall in Tirol, Austria. The coin features Archduke Ferdinand of Austria. This coin is well-struck - they used a roll-press for these as the planchet was literally rolled between two dies to create the coin under pressure. This sometimes creates a small curve in the coin, which is just as it was made and is not a defect! The patina on this 450-year-old silver coin is rather dark and heavy, but there are excellent colors underneath. Be sure to check out the PCGS TrueView for this coin!
